HOURS FOR POSITION: Monday- Friday 8 hours per day.
Hiring Range - $54.58 /hr - $68.23 /hr
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Refer to Competency Chart for specific accountabilities by level.
- Collaborates with end users, analysts, peer system administrators, and management in conceptualizing the development of new software integrations and applications by analyzing existing workflow and understanding current system challenges in order to meet operational needs in a cost effective manner. Responsible for identifying needs and analyzing existing applications for potential enhancements to business processes thereby leveraging existing software features.
- Develops technological solutions for processes and/or workflow by performing analysis and providing automation improvements. Validates results by testing programs and provides assistance with new procedures. Assists with solving organization information problems.
- Provides technical support for projects in support of TFCU requirements evaluating options and developing project plans to ensure appropriate coordination and sequencing of tasks.
- Maintains the integrity, performance, reliability and security of TFCU's application systems. Installs and supports server and PC based software. This includes actively reviewing new enhancements/features, coordinating updates, and making recommendations regarding vendor/application direction and fit within Tower’s Infrastructure.
- In conjunction with (cooperation with) IT Architect and vendors, (following SQL best practices), provides administration and technical support for in house database servers.
- Investigates and resolves enterprise application functionality issues. Provides second level troubleshooting support for core system issues and ancillary applications.
- Develops and modifies job control language and/or adjusts system parameters according to documentation to incorporate new features and/or resolve production issues, depending on the credit union needs and requests.
- If feasible, identifies opportunities and gathers business needs /requirements to utilize existing APIs and SDKs. Writes, translates, codes, and maintains software integrations and applications according to specifications. Develops programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary.
- Produces core system reports and data extracts in various formats and delivery channels based on end user requirements. Supports user departments with accurate and timely responses to requests for information Creates and maintains credit union forms with core system integration based on user requests.
- Performs appropriate research and testing, in addition to following change management protocols to implement change requests, new business processes, or applications.
- Ensures that current and complete documentation of system specifications are maintained and updated. Writes technical procedures and recovery documentation for TFCU applications. Ensures that internal technical documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Establishes and coordinates backup and recovery procedures for applications and databases in conjunction with network administrators. Verifies and tests Disaster Recovery of all software applications.
Level III Accountabilities - May also include a number of the types of responsibilities outlined below:
- Serves as a leader for application administration across multiple operating systems, hardware types, and application servers. Responsible for providing primary support and expertise to critical applications such as Onbase, Fiserv Spectrum core system, and Data Warehouse.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the fundamentals of Server Aministration and Operating System environments across the enterprise. Administers and manages organization data resources. Works with vendors to obtain best practices to ensure data availability, integrity and security, recover corrupted data and eliminate data redundancy, and leverages database tools to improve database performance and efficiency.
- Demonstrates proficiency and experience in installing, updating, tuning and diagnosing both internal and third-party applications. Demonstrates strong experience in installing, implementing, and maintaining current Windows server products.
- In conjuction with the IT Architect, responsible for disaster recovery strategy for applications and databases to include the most cost effective and efficient means of meeting business recovery objectives.
- Demonstrated proficiency in creating and maintaining deployments packages/scripts.
- Provides technical guidance and/or instruction to IS staff members. (Team Lead)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Competencies Chart must be included-used for levels I, II, III employment and career progression criteria
Education & Experience
- Level I – BS in the field of Information Systems or related field desired, and at least 2-3 years related work experience required; without a degree a minimum of 5+ years as outlined below.
- Level II – BS in the field of Information Systems, or related field and at least 3-5 years related work experience required; without a degree a minimum of 7+ years as outlined below.
- Level III – BS in the field of Information Systems, or related field and 5 + years experience. Without a degree, a minimum of 10+ years as outlined below plus relevant certifications which may include CBAP, MCTS (Database), MCITP (Database), or other comparable information system management certifications. Experience in successfully maintaining and implementing Spectrum, or directly related applications.
- Must meet all required competencies within a specified timeframe in order to promote to the next level.
Skills
Technical:
- Knowledge of relational database and query concepts.
- Experience with Relationaal Database Software. Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of databases (i.e. MSSQL, Oracle, Access).
- Knowledge and experience supporting applications in a WAN environment.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft suite of desktop applications
- Basic knowledge of networking technologies and concepts to include LAN/WAN/Firewall.
- Proficiency in a variety of programming and scripting languages, including Java, .NET, SQL, and Perl a plus.
- Knowledge of financial institution systems (ie. Core processing, reporting, etc.) a plus.
- Preferred certifications include: CBAP, MCTS (Database), MCITP (Database), MCSA, PMP
- Ability to create and organize reports that synthesize complex information.
- Ability to understand and analyze financial and operational data
Communication:
- Ability to interact and effectively coach technical and non-technical users at all organizational levels, and provide explanation or instruction and respond to questions in one-on-one situations in person and/or over the phone
- Ability to independently work with third parties to resolve technical issues.

- Must be able to visually and physically check/inspect cabling beneath and/or behind objects such as desks, personal computers, printers, etc. This may include moving or lifting computer equipment from or to a desk, floor, or table.

- Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods and demonstrate sufficient dexterity and vision to operate a variety of office equipment.
