SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Financial Management Information Reporting Analyst is responsible for managing and supporting Tower Federal Credit Union’s (TFCU) Fiserv Risk & Performance (R&P) solutions with multiple real-time integration points. This includes analyzing technical requirements, implementing and maintaining systems through their respective lifecycles. The Financial Management Information Reporting Analyst provides project and business analysis support for Finance related strategic projects, internal process improvements, system upgrades, and the integration of these business systems in order to effectively and efficiently use TFCU systems.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Collaborates with end users, analysts, peer system administrators, and management in conceptualizing the development of new software integrations and applications by analyzing existing workflow and understanding current system challenges in order to meet operational needs in a cost effective manner. identifies needs and analyzes existing applications for potential enhancements to business processes thereby leveraging existing finance software features.
- Develops technological solutions for processes and/or workflow by performing analysis and providing automation improvements. Validates results by testing programs and provides assistance with new procedures. Assists with solving organization information problems.
- Executes, maintains, and updates, technological solutions in support of organizational profitability, product profitability strategies, risk-based capital, and Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) analyses and reporting.
- Offers conceptual and procedural best practice support and guidance for all R&P applications.
- Troubleshoots technical and data related issues for all finance software applications.
- Oversees the maintenance of the budget database, develops standard and non-standard reports to meet internal reporting needs.
- Provides technical support of the financial forecasting/budgeting activities in conjunction with the budgeting and strategic planning process.
- Trains and mentors end-users on budgeting/forecasting, strategic planning, organizational and product profitability.
- Supports the Finance Team in the execution of detailed budgets/operating plans, annual forecast, profitability reporting, and strategic plans for presentation to and approval by Senior Management, Board of Directors, and Budget Committee.
- Provides technical support for projects in support of TFCU requirements evaluating options and developing project plans to ensure appropriate coordination and sequencing of tasks.
- Maintains the integrity, performance, reliability and security of TFCU's R&P application systems. Works in conjunction with TFCU Information Systems, or Fiserv Hosted Operations to install and support server and PC based software. This includes actively reviewing new enhancements/features, coordinating updates, and making recommendations regarding vendor/application direction and fit within Tower’s Infrastructure.
- Provides administration and assists Information Systems technical support for in house applications.
- Serves as the lead EUAC contact for the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB). The EUAC is responsible for the identification, authentication and notification processes for end users of web based services provided by the FRB.
- Investigates and resolves enterprise application functionality issues. Provides first level troubleshooting support for system issues and ancillary applications.
- Develops and modifies job control language and/or adjusts system parameters according to documentation to incorporate new features and/or resolve production issues, depending on the credit union needs and requests.
- Writes, translates, codes, and maintains software integrations and applications according to specifications. Develops programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of R&P applications as necessary.
- Designs and develops training manuals, writes quick reference guides for distribution to expedite training and improve end-user experience.
- Produces system reports and data extracts in various formats and delivery channels based on end user requirements. Supports user departments with accurate and timely responses to requests for information.
- Tests new product releases, validates software defects, and conducts User Acceptance Testing prior to release of software upgrades.
- Establishes and coordinates backup and recovery procedures for applications and databases in conjunction with network administrators. Verifies and tests Disaster Recovery of all software applications.
- Performs related duties when assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Eight to ten years progressively responsible accounting experience in the credit union / financial services field.
- Experience with report creation and analysis using contemporary accounting systems.
- Experience with Fiserv Risk & Performance application, implementation and maintenance, or similar systems.
- Expereince should demonstrate excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to interpret data and make recommendations based on diagnostics.
- Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of relational database and query concepts.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft suite of desktop applications
- Knowledge of financial institution systems (ie. Core processing, reporting, etc.).
- Must possess and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Finance systems.
- Must possess and demonstrate proficiency in programming systems comparable to the Fiserv Risk & Performance application.
- Ability to identify cause and effect relationships and evaluate risk vs. potential return, and adapt to unique situations.
- Ability to read and analyze financial and operational data with which to draw sound conclusions and make recommendations and have the ability to create relevant and readable graphs, flowcharts and spreadsheets.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including the ability to interact effectively with Risk & Performance systems vendor staff as well as technical and non-technical users at all levels within Tower.
- Ability to provide explanations or instructions and respond to questions in one-on-one situations, in person, via e-mail and/or over the phone; present ideas and concepts clearly and concisely verbally and in writing; write reports, business correspondence and procedures for a diverse audience.
- Must possess excellent organization skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, complete daily job assignments, develop comprehensive project and action plans, demonstrate successful follow through with project implementation, organize workload to accommodate competing deadlines, and successfully manage multiple, concurrent projects.
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information, interact effectively and professionally with colleagues and supervisors, and respond to common inquiries and complaints.
- Has knowledge of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures and all regulations related to the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act and OFAC.
WORK CONDITIONS:
- TFO clearance (Tower Facilities Only) .
- Some evening and weekend work to complete implementations when users are not in the system; ability to respond to needs on an ad hoc and scheduled basis.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
- If assisted, must be able to read data, analyze reports, and prepare summaries and recommendations without violating confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods and demonstrate sufficient dexterity and vision to operate a variety of office equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs with or without assistance.
- Ability to work the hours needed which may extend beyond the defined work schedule when operating conditions dictate.
