About the PTA Role:

As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the rehabilitation process of patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. Your primary responsibility will be to assist licensed physical therapists in implementing treatment plans that promote mobility, reduce pain, and improve overall physical function. You will work closely with patients in an outpatient setting, providing hands-on support and encouragement throughout their recovery journey. Your compassionate approach will help foster a positive environment that motivates patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals. Ultimately, your contributions will significantly enhance the quality of life for those you serve, making a meaningful impact in the health care community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency, English and Spanish.
  • Experience working in an outpatient rehabilitation setting.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Provide direct patient care, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities as directed by the physical therapist.
  • Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising physical therapist.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises, home care techniques, and safety precautions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with health care regulations.

The required skills of physical therapy and rehabilitation are essential for effectively assisting patients in their recovery. Your knowledge of universal precautions will ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff, while your ability to lift and carry heavy weights will be crucial when helping patients with mobility challenges.
