Innovative Therapeutic Services (ITS) is seeking a compassionate, forward-thinking Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing team as Medical Director. This is a unique opportunity to lead with purpose while delivering high-quality psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and adults. We currently offer remote services with the option to see clients in-person at our office.

Part-Time Contractual · 20 Hours/Week · Remote or Hybrid

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for children, adolescents, and adults.

  • Conduct initial comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, concurrent reviews, and psychiatric consultations.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

  • Gather and maintain client information, including social and medical history from clients, relatives, and collaborating professionals.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests when clinically appropriate.

  • Coordinate referrals within the clinic and to outside mental health or treatment programs.

  • Collaborate with clinical, psychiatric, and administrative team members to ensure integrated care.

  • Supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners and psychiatrists to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and documentation standards.

  • Participate in clinical meetings, professional development, and required trainings.

  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field, or M.D./D.O.

  • Active PMHNP or Psychiatrist license in the State of Maryland (DC & Virginia licensure a plus).

  • Active DEA License.

  • Active CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substance) Registration.

  • Minimum of two years of experience working with children and adolescents.

  • Knowledge of state certifications/licensing, CARF standards, COMAR regulations, and HIPAA compliance.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with clients with substance use disorders.

  • Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EMR/EHR systems, CRISP, and strong written/oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and show creativity and flexibility.

Additional Requirements

  • Must successfully complete federal and state background checks.

  • Must carry professional liability insurance (minimum limits: $1M occurrence / $3M aggregate).
