Job Summary:
The Electrician will be responsible for the installation, proactive/preventive maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Installs electrical equipment such as circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
- Repairs, tests, and maintains electrical equipment, machinery, and systems such as generators, motors, and lighting systems.
- Performs inspection rounds of electrical equipment and maintains records and schedules of tasks and inspections.
- Performs general maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facility.
- Organizes all work assigned and completes accurately and on-time all work tickets and required paperwork.
- Support electrical requirements of HVAC and other trades as .
- Keeps electrical spaces clean, leaves work sites in better condition than when arrived
- Fully documents work order steps, enters log notes, and conditions, and makes recommendations for improved maintenance
- Reviews PM work activities and suggests changes to improve the operation or reliability of the equipment.
- Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Maintains tools and equipment in good condition; plans and organizes assignments effectively.
- Presents a professional, positive, and helpful attitude at all times when interacting with customers, co-workers, and supervision.
- Maintains effective communication with management, employees, and customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain base access.
- Submit to and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Not be color-blind.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three years of recent experience within the past five years in electrical trades.
Preferred:
- Electrical Journeyman's License.
- Prior experience working on government contracts.
- OSHA 10.
