WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Manager to support our pavement management contract in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team of inspectors and oversee daily field operations on a critical infrastructure contract.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

In your role as a Construction Manager, your primary duties will include:

  • Leading a team of Construction Supervisors and Inspectors while managing day-to-day field operations to confirm efficient workflows, compliance with contract requirements, and a positive, high-performing work environment.
  • Confirming all inspection reports are complete and submitted within two business days, including all required documentation such as material tickets, sketches, quantity calculations, and photographs.
  • Overseeing department deliverables such as funding/expenditure reports, and status/accomplishment reports as well as overseeing contract administration, documentation and file management.
  • Delivering highly effective QA/QC on all field activities for a variety of projects (paving, ADA, reconstruction, preventative maintenance), many of which are delivered without approved sets of plans.
  • Reviewing and validating inspector timesheets for accuracy and confirming timely submission.
  • Leading the hiring, onboarding, and career advancement initiatives of inspection staff assigned to this contract.
  • Confirming inspectors receive appropriate ongoing training and maintain all necessary certifications throughout the duration of the contract.
  • Maintaining and submitting a weekly summary report of materials received, including tests performed and results.
  • Coordinating with the client, contractors, and other stakeholders to confirm clear communication and timely resolution of field issues.
  • Participating in pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and close-out meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and abilities:

  • 10+ years of experience in construction inspection, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience with transportation infrastructure projects, including but not limited to roadways, highways, bridges, sidewalks, and related assets.
  • A high school diploma or a high school equivalent certification
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proficiency in math and English
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to walk over rough and uneven terrain; stand for up to 12 hours a day on occasion; and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting; using hands to grasp and reach; raising hands above the head; sitting; climbing; and balancing
  • Able to work in various weather conditions and terrains
